About Bay European

To get the best out of your car, it needs regular maintenance—done properly.

I’m Terry Hart, Owner and Senior Technician at Bay European. I’ve been operating in Tauranga and Mount Maunganui since 2005, specialising in European vehicles with a focus on Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Škoda.

My reputation has been built the simple way: straight advice, quality workmanship, and cars that leave running right.

If you’d like your vehicle looked after by someone who takes it personally, give me a call or get in touch.

Safety, Quality, Value for Money

Modern vehicles are more complex than ever—especially European cars. That’s why I stay current with the latest mechanical and electronic systems, and I take a diagnostic-first approach to finding the real cause of a problem (not just treating symptoms).

I know how disruptive it is when your car won’t start, loses power, or throws warning lights. You rely on it—and you’re trusting me with something that needs to work every day. I don’t take that lightly. When you bring your car to Bay European, you get straight advice, careful workmanship, and a job done properly—with no shortcuts and no guesswork.

Safety comes first. Everything I do is with your safety in mind—whether your vehicle is a family runabout, your pride and joy, or a long-term keeper. The goal is simple: keep your car reliable, safe, and performing as it should, while helping you avoid preventable (and expensive) issues down the track.

My workshop is kept clean, well-lit and well-ventilated, and I take care to dispose of waste oil, batteries, scrap metal and filters responsibly.

Regular servicing—plus repairs as needed—goes a long way. Look after your car, and it will look after you: quietly, reliably, and ready to go when you need it.

Expert advice & technicians you can trust.

Your car is a major investment—and with modern vehicles, maintenance isn’t something to put off. Done properly and on time, servicing protects reliability, performance, and resale value.

At Bay European, I use the right diagnostic tools and a careful, methodical approach to keep your vehicle running as it should. Safety is always the priority, whether it’s your daily family car, a weekend passion project, or a long-term keeper.

Stay on top of regular servicing, fix small issues before they become big ones, and your car will do what it’s meant to do: start first time, drive properly, and get you where you’re going—safely and on time.

Mechanics you can trust

When you bring your car to me, you’re trusting me with your safety and your time. I take that seriously.

I’m methodical in how I work: I diagnose first, explain what I’ve found in plain English, and only recommend what your car actually needs. No guesswork, no upselling—just straight advice and careful workmanship.

European vehicles demand the right approach, so I invest in proper diagnostic equipment, quality parts, and procedures that match the vehicle—not a one-size-fits-all service. The result is simple: a car that runs right, and work I’m proud to stand behind.

Or better still, give us call or contact us.

“Really friendly, honest, trustworthy with great advice. Our family has been bringing our cars to Bay European for years.  We never have to think about our cars reliability, as we know Terry has it sorted for us.
