Air Conditioning

Could Your AC Be Running Better?

Heating and A/C systems may break eventually with usage, hose pipes may clog and drip if not serviced, causing reduced efficiency heating and cooling capabilities. Regular maintenance will keep your AC system operating at peak performance!

Indications your A/C system may be having issues:

  • If your air conditioning blows only slightly cooler air compared to the exterior air
  • Air that blows in smells damp, musty, or like mildew and mold
  • Your cabin does not warm up in cold weather, or is just a little warmer than outside
  • The defroster takes longer than typical to operate, or does not operate
  • Your heater or A/C only functions when driving, not when idling, or quits blowing when the car is stationary
  • Your heating system blows cold air, or the air conditioning blows warm air
  • Low airflow even at the highest fan setting.

Check And Replace Your Cabin Pollen Filter.

All the dust and allergens in the air get filtered out with a new cabin pollen filter. It’s amazing how much dust, debris, and fumes are filtered out with a good quality filter.

Apply An Anti-bacterial Spray To Kill Bacteria And Germs.

Germs easily breed in your car’s AC system and they can cause a bad smell. Remember, your car heater system sends the air you (and any passengers) are breathing around the car.

Smelly Car? No Fear!

If you do have an odour we can also give you a Klima fresh deodoriser. You can take it with you and carry out the procedure at home, or we can do it for you at Bay European.

Top Tips For A Super-hot Day

  • Put the switch on your AC/heater to ‘recirculate’. That way, the AC system is cooling the air down inside the car rather than bringing in fresh, warm air from outside. A bit like closing the fridge door.
  • Also, to freshen up the air, wind down a couple of your windows for a few seconds then wind them up again.
  • You can also turn on the ‘recirculate’ button to keep the fumes out when you’re in heavy traffic.

Continuing to run your A/C without finding the cause can burn out the compressor, the part that converts refrigerant from a gaseous state to a liquid state. Because there are so many different parts to the air conditioning system, you need to rely on specialists who have the tools and equipment to properly diagnose the problem. Don’t waste money on guesses; visit the pros who’ll fix it correctly the first time. The skilled technicians at Bay European provide accurate diagnostic services for air conditioning problems.
